Security Clearances can be of three types: Confidential, Secret, or Top Secret level, and is granted by the DoD Office of Personnel Management. If you currently hold a clearance at your present employment, or from a past employer, or due to your service in the military, there is a chance that it can be transferred to Warden Systems. The Clearance can be transferred after a 2-year period from the date of your debriefing. Also notify your Talent Acquisition representative handling your application if you currently hold a Security Clearance.
For employees that don't hold a security clearance, you will have to go through a background check involving an Electronic Security Questionnaire that contains information relating to your family and personal background. Examples of such questions are:
Everywhere you've lived and a contact that can verify each location(s)
Educational background
Your parents, siblings, spouse and children and where they are currently residing
Everywhere you've worked, military history (if any) and your direct supervisor at each position
Traveled Locations outside the U.S.
There are also personal questions that are used to verify if you are trustworthy enough to protect classified information:
Employment Records
Police Records
Any close contact with foreign nationals in the U.S. and abroad, and business dealings
Drug and Alcohol use
Any counseling that you have undergone, and a mental assessment
Financial history
A party to any Civil Court judgements
If you have had clearances before and they were revoked
Whether you belong to an organization that wishes to overthrow the U.S.
The disqualifying factors for this process are:
You are not a U.S. citizen
You were dishonorably discharged from the military
You were recently involved in illegal drug use
You are judged mentally incompetent and undergo medication or receive disability for psychological disorders
You have had your clearance revoked
You are a dual citizen and carry a passport for a country other than the U.S.
There are also a number of things that may also delay your DoD clearance:
You have a significant number of foreign national contacts or immediate family living in other countries
You own properties in other countries
You have been convicted of a felony in the past 10 years
Significant financial problems
Warden Systems routinely obtains contracts that would require clearance to U.S. Government intelligence information, and work on restricted access projects will require a current DoD clearance and you may be required to take a polygraph and undergo additional screening.
